Qulet ቁሌት is an authentic Ethiopian sauce base and spice range made in Ethiopia from 100% natural ingredients. No preservatives. Gluten-free. Vegan-friendly. Traditional Ethiopian food, ready in under 30 minutes.
Trusted by the Ethiopian diaspora. Discovered by food lovers worldwide.

Ethiopian cooking has a foundation. A slow-cooked base of onions and hand-blended spices that builds depth, carries heat, and holds a dish together from the first minute to the last.
Every Batch
Queen Sheba makes that foundation through Qulet and a growing range of Ethiopian sauce bases, spice blends, and cooking ingredients, all made in Ethiopia from 100% natural ingredients.
What Is Qulet?
Qulet is an authentic Ethiopian sauce base rooted in the cooking traditions of Ethiopia. Every jar holds the spice-rich base used to make dishes that would normally take most of the day to build from scratch, with that same depth of flavour in under 30 minutes.
The starting point for some of the most flavourful food on earth.
1 Jar
The real thing. Ready to cook.
Why We Made Qulet
Authentic Ethiopian cooking starts with a spice base that takes skill, time, and the right ingredients. For the diaspora abroad, those ingredients are often hard to find. For first-time cooks, the process can feel out of reach.
Our Quality Promise
100% natural ingredients. No artificial additives. No shortcuts. Produced to meet international food safety standards while staying true to how this food has always been made.
For Diaspora
A way back to the flavor memory of home.
For First Cooks
A real starting point without the barrier of scratch prep.
For Every Kitchen
Consistent depth whether you cook once a week or for a crowd.
If you grew up eating this food, Qulet will taste like home. If you are cooking Ethiopian food for the first time, this is the most honest place to start.
Who It Serves
From the taste of home to first discovery
For Ethiopians seeking the taste of home and for new audiences discovering Ethiopian cuisine for the first time.
Built for everyday kitchens across Europe and beyond.

Ethiopian cooking has never needed shortcuts. The spice base does the work — and when it is done right, everything else falls into place. Every jar of Qulet carries that same standard.
No wheat. No grains. Safe for gluten-sensitive diets, following the way Ethiopian food has always been prepared.
What’s in the jar is exactly what belongs there. Nothing added to extend shelf life artificially.
Every ingredient comes from nature. No artificial flavourings, colourings or additives of any kind.
Built on the Ethiopian fasting tradition — one of the world’s richest plant-based cooking cultures.
Ethiopia observes more than 180 fasting days per year in the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition. On those days, no meat, dairy or eggs are eaten. The result is a cuisine that has spent centuries perfecting plant-based cooking. Qulet honours that tradition.

"Ethiopian food is built around the communal table. Dishes are placed together on a single large piece of injera, and everyone eats from the same plate. The recipes here are the dishes that have sat at the centre of that table for generations. Each one starts with Qulet."

Featured Dish
Lentil Stew
Misir Wot is one of the most eaten dishes in Ethiopia. Red lentils slow-cooked in a spiced base until thick, deep and satisfying. It is eaten daily in homes across the country, served on injera for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This version uses Qulet as the foundation, carrying the full spice blend you would otherwise spend an hour building from scratch.

You do not need a full spice cabinet. You do not need to have cooked Ethiopian food before. You need Qulet and three steps.

Pour Qulet into a saucepan. Warm over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring gently. Your spice base is ready.

Add red lentils, meat or vegetables. Stir together for 10-15 minutes until everything is coated and beginning to cook.

Add boiling water. Cover and simmer 15-20 minutes. Rest for a few minutes before serving. The flavour deepens as it stands.
Serve on injera for the full Ethiopian experience, or with rice, couscous or flatbread. Pairs well with Ayibe (Ethiopian fresh cheese), natural yogurt or cottage cheese.
